As it happened: The 74th Globes: Hollyweed Crawling with Foreigners and Bohemians

(Tatranka: Goralské tanečné sólo - z filmu Balada o Vojtovej Maríne)

Fan favourite Hugh Laurie won best supporting actor for his role as Richard Onslow Roper in British spy drama The Night Manager, based on the John le Carre novel of the same name.

Laurie managed to also land a dig at Mr Trump, joking that it would be his last Golden Globes as it was run by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

"I accept this award on behalf of psychopathic billionaires everywhere," Laurie said.

The Trump jibes weren’t limited to Fallon. Meryl Streep, the winner of the Cecil B. DeMille
award for career achievement, slammed Trump for having an “instinct to humiliate,”
citing the president-elect’s mocking of a disabled reporter.

“Disrespect invites disrespect,” she said. “Violence incites violence. When the powerful
use their position to bully others, we all lose.”

He actually arrived yesterday, but there was no one around to sign for him,” said Fallon – making a sly reference to Amazon’s main line of business, "package delivery of cold  rivers " ...

(if there was any doubt that Jeff Bezos is the most powerful media mogul around, note that  he was at Golden Globes seated next to Matt Damon)

Donald Trump was a popular target for jokes, while La La Land reeled in the awards and Meryl Streep was honoured. Relive the action with our blog.
